Paper Love CONTEST

Crate Paper - Fourteen now at The Paper Pickle!
Sometimes I wonder if there is something wrong with me.   I started checking my Facebook newsfeed tonight. You know, checking out who's birthday it is today....all the new photos of dogs and kids.  Then I found it.  The YouTube video from Scrapbookerdotcom showing the release from Basic Grey called Kneehighs.  That lead to Simple Stories Snap Album release.....That lead to the video of Studio Calico's three new collections.....which lead to.... Crate Paper's release...

CHA Winter - Oh My Gosh!
OK.  I admit it.  I will admit to you, my crazy paper loving friends, that I just spent an obscene amount of time on YouTube checking out videos from CHA. New product. From every company imaginable. It was sick!  I mean, SICK....the amount of time I spent searching and drooling.....wanting to see it ALL.  What I don't understand is how these companies manage to keep getting better and better with every release?  Do you feel this way too?

And another thing that amazed me is that today, you can see it all from the comfort of your own home.  It was like being there....well almost. Remember the year Kell and I stalked Paris Hilton while attending CHA!  Here is the post from 2009 with the video proof that we did in fact stalk her, not on the web, but in person!  There is nothing like attending those shows but I have to admit that tonight WAS fun!

Paper Addiction Support Group
So what I am really trying to say here is that I have a seriously problem.  I am in love with paper. I will admit that it is an addiction.  So why don't we start a club here on this blog?  Where we will ALL share our obsessions? Where we will smile all the while typing about our favourite releases?  I mean I am always on here gushing about my new loves.  I swear I may be the Taylor Swift of paper crafting....ha.  A little John Mayer Crate Paper....a little Harry Studio Calico....a little Kennedy Basic Grey...

A Little Incentive
Why don't you gush along with me?  Why not post about your latest loves?  Need a little incentive to gush openly, in public, on this blog?  I'm here to help!  So here's the deal.  Anyone that comments on this post, and tells me about their favourite release at CHA or about products I should carry at The Pickle, will be entered into a draw.  You will receive one ballot per post per day.  All comments and suggestions must be posted by the end of day Sunday January 27th.  Then on Tuesday, January 29th, I will blog and reveal the BIG winner!

What is at Stake?
So what can you win? Now don't you worry your pretty little head about this!  Let's just say that I will take good care of you!   I will promise at least $100 of my favourite things from The Paper Pickle.  Sound good? Come on....don't be shy!  Please share with me and everyone else so The Paper Pickle can be THE coolest paper boutique EVER!

Open tomorrow!  Stop in and say hi!

Remember...store hours are now:

  • Wednesday 10am-5pm
  • Thursday 10am-4pm
  • Saturday 9:30am-3pm
  • Or by appointment if discussing invitations!

Oh sure I will open up about my loves, not sure you have the bandwidth but here goes :)
Prima, Hello Pastel collection with their flowers and trinkets are tugging on my heart strings.
Crate paper's DIY shop is a must have!
Faber Castell...Oh my gosh after trying their new Gelatos and finding how awesome they are, well it stands to reason that their new Stampers Big Brush Pens and Essential PITT Artist pens are on my list.
Glitz.. OMG did you see their Colour me Happy, and Uncharted Waters lines? How could anyone turn away from those two?
Maya Road's Vintage Peacock feathers stamp set HAS to be added to my stamp collection, I just CAN'T do without that one. Also their burlap trip needs to find it's way into my stash in a few different colours.
Sizzix has a new Flower 3D & vine that would be very nice in my collection along with their new Dragonflies die.
Crafters Workshop has some amazing new stencils/masks that are absolute must haves.
Tim Holtz also has a new sizzix die called Tapered Fringe which I am drooling over.
Then there is the Echo Park new line called "A Perfect Summer"
NOT gonna be a perfect summer around here if I start buying all this stuff, there might be a bit of tension between DH and me LOL

Oh my...where to begin...
The Simple Stories Vintage Bliss collection knocked my socks off, as does most of Simple Stories product!
MME Boy Crazy and My Girl are just the sweetest, most fun kid collections I've seen in awhile.
Webster's Pages has some really cool patterned transparencies AND little patterned bags (super cute!).
Doodlebug Design always delights me...their new collections are bright and fun as always. I LOVE the little stickers they make-perfect for a focal point on a card if you don't feel like stamping.
Cosmo Cricket's Honky Tonk collection- OH MY GOSH! I love it all!!!!!
Lastly, the twine from Maya Road is beautiful!
I can't WAIT until these products start hitting the stores. Crafting overload!

I have only got part way through all the videos from CHA, but so far these are a few of my favourite things....... 1) Walnut Grove 6x6 Paper Pad from Pebbles Inc.; 2) Yes Please line and two tone striped thickers by Amy Tangerine; 3) Studio Calico has released some really great product- a) Here & There line which has a great cityscape paper/country look/travel look to it, b) The Snippets line is so cute too, and c) their chalboard thickers are so cool; 4) One unique product that I saw profiled was the Washi Tape Stripes paper by Crate Paper - this seems like a really neat paper - a lot of versatility/uses for it.
One other product that seems really neat is The Distress Paints by Tim Holtz and of course his stamps are so unique. I have just started to scrapbook and I also want to try the Mister Huey masks and mists - that is a whole new discovery for me ---- love, love, love the look those products create.
When you challenged us to watch some Youtube videos and let you know what our favourite products are --- I didn't realized how many videos would be out there :) BUT it was fun seeing all the new products that get released by all the different companies.

After reading your blog post, I went on You Tube last night to check some of the items out. I watched a few of the Tim Holtz videos and would love to get some distress paints to try. They look really cool to work with. I am also loving the burlap embellishments from American Crafts and SEI, and the washi Tape paper from Crate Paper looks really cool too!

I'm with you Kim, I'm addicted to paper! Love all the new releases but lately I've been wanting some Graphic 45 paper. I've seen what some mixed media artists have done using it and it looks like some I would love. Next is anything TIM H. I watched his video on the Distress Paint and that looks very interesting. There really wasn't much I didn't like actually. I love to collect scrapbooking, card making and mixed media "anything" so I'm pretty easy to please.

My newest paper love is the Authentique line. The Renew collection looks great. All the new Spellbinders are on my "to be ordered" list. The Media Mixage and the Imperial Gold Dies look incredible. Of course anything Tim Holtz is on my wish list. The Shattered Kraft-Core paper has a ton of possibilities along with the new Distress paints. So many great new products - so little space!

My husband was gone curling, so that gave me some time to view some more CHA videos. I came across some "must have" paper collections. Since I have just started scrapbooking (2 grandsons) the Scoot collection by Echo Park would be perfect .... my grandson loves trains and firetrucks and this collection has all of that. A close second to that would be the Boy Crazy collection by My Minds Eye - they also have a very cute My Girl collection as well. My Minds Eye has another awesome collection series called "Collectable Collections" which is so cool - there are several different series, ie. Notable, Memorable, Remarkable and Unforgettable. The issue with watching these videos on YouTube is that you want all of the products they are showcasing :) So glad I found this hobby - as it is my therapy. Some people go to the gym to work out ... I go to my craft studio and work out. Can't wait to see what papers you bring in.

Hi Everyone,
Well let me say first that Kim is wonderful at providing special orders and the great part is that you can pay in Canadian funds and no shipping charges, what could be more wonderful than that??? O.k so back on topic...I love the Knee High's collection from Basic Grey, Vintage Bliss from Simple Stories, Yes Please from Amy Tangerine and Snippets from Studio Callico. Not only are the papers wonderful the embellishments are just WOW. Love it!

First, is the Hope Chest collection from Pink Paislee and then there's the Engraver collection from Prima. There is also the Mint Julep collection from Basic Grey and finally the Naturals collection from Little Yellow Bicycle, especially the cork and wood stick pins. So cute!

Good Morning Kim! I know you are busy at the Wedding Show; hope you have a fanastic day there!
I'm back with another love of mine - 6"x6" paper packs. I can't get enough of them! Now, I admit I have quite a stack of these beauties (I think I've gotten everyone of them that you bring in to the store; unless of course Jazz beats me to the last pack! ...at least I taught her how to "share", lol). They are the only DP's I really use; perfect for card making with their resized patterns. So I'm really looking forward to seeing what 6"x6" packs 2013 brings.
blessings on your day,
Nancy

Basic Grey has done it again - I am totally LOVING the Kneehigh 12x12 paper, bottlecap stickers, and the layered stickers!! They are all waaaay too cute!! I cannot wait to get my hands on that stuff!!
As well, the Ambrosia Line from Bazzill... the colours are just so feminine and pretty!! So many cute patterns too!!
And last but not least, Crate Paper - the Maggie Holmes line anyone?? Those gold and silver glittery thickers, and the resin flower clips, and the embellishments, and the PAPER!! Oh the paper... (*sigh*) it's beautiful!!
Now I've never tried the Washi tape, but I've heard so many great things about it that I may need to add it to my arsenal of scrapbooking supplies. And a lot of the companies were coming out with some very cool patterns. It looks SO FUN!! :)
Can't wait to get my hands on some of these new products!!!
