The Paper Pickle's got it!  Stop in Saturday.  We are open from 9am-4pm.  Sunday is my day to work on the treat bags for the kid's classmates.  I will make sure I post pictures as soon as they are ready!

A Little NIGHTTIME Story....

Everyone ready for their nighttime story?  

Once upon a time, there was a girl who lived and breathed paper. Nothing brought her more joy than bringing the latest and most sought after paper product to her little town.  She was always amazed with the beautiful colours and patterns that she would see as she flipped through the 6x6 pads.  "Now, who would think to pair butterflies with typewriters or orange with aqua?" she thought to herself.  "I wonder what they are going to do next?  I mean HOW can they possibly top THIS?"  But you know what?  They DO....each and every time!  It keeps getting better and better.  And she is amazed by this fact.

Each piece of paper....each little piece of pure joy, awakens her senses and brings with it a creative spark.  Sometimes THAT spark is all that is needed to inspire and breathe life into her next project.

Magenta Style right here in CHATHAM!

The Paper Pickle Company is about to bring you two very RARE and EXCITING opportunities!  One of the creative forces behind the Magenta Rubber Stamp company is coming to Chatham to teach TWO classes!  Magenta is Canada's rubber stamp company and this is HUGE!   

 Nathalie Metivier has been with Magenta since the beginning.  She and her sister, Helene, and brother in law founded the company over 20 years ago in Montreal (got to love a successful family business)!  She has designed rubber stamps, papers and embellishments for Magenta and has had two books published.  It is her mission to share with others the Magenta style!

Magenta is an amazing Canadian rubber stamp company and I cannot believe we have been presented with this unique opportunity!  Magenta was one of the first stamp companies we had carried in the store so it is very near and dear to my heart and I cannot wait to be a part of these classes myself!  I have personally taken one of Nathalie's classes at CHA and she is a very patient instructor.  All levels of crafters are welcome!

 Class Details

This card class will be jam packed with various Magenta Style techniques.  Work with alcohol inks to create gorgeous backgrounds, and colour with distress inks.  The ghost technique will be making an appearance in this class.  Heat embossing will be featured on the bird card along with using various watercolour markers to add colour.  Light refreshments will be included to keep up your stamina!

Required Supplies:  good scissors, adhesive

So anyone of these cards would make a great Christmas card for 2012, don't you think?  Not only are all three beautiful, they will each teach you a different technique.  Learn what ghost stamping is, work with peel-off's and create a collage style card with direct to paper technique.  You will also be working with pearlescent watercolour paint.  Ok.  I am in love with the silhouette card!  Light refreshments will be included to give you energy!

You can call the store to register 519.351.5220.  PLEASE DO NOT EMAIL.  Our old email address is about to expire and I would hate for you to miss this opportunity!  Please leave your name and contact number.  Alternatively, you could stop in on Saturday (between 9am-4pm) to sign up.  Remember, I am only open on Saturdays for the month of October (thank you again for your patience!).

All reserved seats must be paid for at time of registration (I will call you for the payment details; don't leave it on the phone).

If you are unable to attend after registering, it is YOUR responsibility to find a replacement.

Seating will be limited, so please call early to avoid disappointment!

Trunk Show
Nathalie will be offering a trunk show after each class.  Magenta stamps and various embellishments will be available for sale.  Any items not brought to the store that day, will be available to order, with orders being filled in a timely manner.

Nathalie has also informed me that she will be bringing their fabulous display boards.  Honestly, I was always amazed when I saw Magenta's booths at the CHA trade show.  Their samples were always so amazing!

New Store. New Product. Change IS Good.

Hello Paper Pickle People!

So we are officially open in our new location!  Saturday was the first day in the new Pickle.  Thank you to those who came out during such a busy weekend, given it was Thanksgiving and all.  Truly, you made my day by sharing a little bit of yours with me!  

So what can I say about the NEW Pickle?  Well, I have to admit I am in love!  I know I say this all the time but it is true!  Besides, I am a girl with a big heart and lots of room for paper love!  So yeah, the space may be smaller than you are use to but it is bursting with character!  I have packed just about as much product and design a girl could into this one amazing space.  And the smell?  Did I mention we are now located inside my favourite coffee shop?  Honestly, the store smells the way heaven would to me.....ahhhh!

Hey.  I shouldn't be sharing all my photos with you.  You should come in and see for yourself just how cool the new digs are.  Ah.....Ok.....one more.  Can you tell I am a proud mama?

And what would a new store be without NEW product?!?  Over a dozen new styles of Studio Calico, Pebbles and Amy Tangerine 12x12 papers are now in store!  I have also brought in many of the styles in 6x6 pads as well.

And you know those amazing wood veneers from Studio Calico?  Well I brought in a bunch of the new styles:  banners, honeycomb, school theme, gears and more!  Lovely, lovely little embellishments for any project.

So what do you think?  See.  Change is not THAT bad.  Change can be fun!  I promise you will love the NEW Pickle as much as me!

Busy, Busy!!

Out with the old… And in with the new! I am extremely busy this week prepping the new store and moving things out of the old place.  Last night, I had fun painting!!

See?  I told you the new place will have just as much character as the original store!  Check out the exposed brick wall in the NEW store!!  Love!

For the month of October, I will be open on Saturdays only. Store hours will be Saturday from 9 AM to 4 PM. But please do not hesitate to call me if there is something you need through the week!!  I will gladly meet you!

I appreciate your patience as I spend this month figuring out what weekday hours I may be able to be open. I will not know my schedule until I get started at the office. Better keep the boss happy!  Thanks again for your support through this transition!!
