December Week 3 SPECIALS & Holiday Hours

Wow.  What a wonderful week we had last week.  The downtown was incredibly busy with Roger's Hometown Hockey. The family was out Saturday enjoying the festivities and I was lucky enough to get out Sunday for the live broadcast.  What an amazing event.  Watching the pre-game video made me so proud of our community.

Thank you Homebaked Kitchen for the beautiful cake.
It was such a nice surprise and SO delicious.
It was the perfect way to celebrate 15 years in business!
Happy 15th Paper Pickle!
Sunday was extra special for me.  The Paper Pickle celebrated our 15th birthday!  I am very proud of this accomplishment.  My sister Kelly and I opened on December 16th, 2003 because of our love of paper and it was the best decision we ever made.  We have made so many friends and have shared in your lives.  And seeing this picture above makes me so happy and proud as well.  "Our little stamper" is growing up and we are watching her blossom.  Her help during make and takes is wonderful.

Week 3 SPECIALS - Ribbon and Paper Pad BOGO!
With a week to go, I thought it was time to ramp up the savings.  Enjoy BOGO on all ribbon and paper pads (included all 6x6, 6x8, 8x8 and 12x12).  This is a great way to get all the papers from your favourite lines.  I love these pads because they make designing a breeze.  I know all papers match and very little thought is required (and that's ALWAYS a good thing...ha!).

Here is a look at our hours over the next couple weeks.

Hope to see you soon!

My HAPPY Post!

So a couple of weeks ago, I put a call out for paper crafting items to be donated to The Chatham-Kent Women's Centre.  And the response was UNBELIEVABLE!  I thought we would get some stickers and paper but never did I imagine we would get huge Fiskars paper trimmers, carrying cases, MOUNDS of beautiful paper, tons of envelopes and 100's of stamps!!!  Truly.  Have a look at what you brought in!!  I spent the afternoon trying to sort the product into categories so it will be easier to use.  I swear the counter wasn't even big enough to organize this amazingly generous stash.

All items will be passed on to the Centre this week and if all goes well, I will be teaching a class in the upcoming months!

This makes me happy.  You should all be proud of yourselves for helping to bring smiles to the women and children of the C-K Women's Centre!

8th Birthday Bash Winner
Thank you to all who came out last week to celebrate our 8th birthday!  Some of you shared stories about when you first discovered 'The Pickle' and even showed me some of our original 'rental cards'!  I even heard women chatting and describing the store as 'their happy place'.  Again, THIS makes me happy.  I am here to bring you the latest and highest quality paper crafting supplies....and maybe share a few smiles along the way.

Oh yeah.  I was suppose to tell you who won our stash of scrapbooking and stamping supplies.  The winner is Laura Van Eerd!  Stop in to pick up your fun!

Birthday Invites & Classes!

I have decided to take a break from creating Julia's third birthday invitation to post the upcoming classes. I have the basic design, stamps and paper chosen but I feel like there is something missing....the problem is that I do not know what it is! You ever have that problem?? Maybe I am putting too much pressure on myself to create the perfect invite but like I said before, this is something that I LOVE to do for my children.

Her first birthday invitation was awesome (if I do say so myself). Here is a little peak... I used Penny Black's animal party stamp. It was stamped using Versafine Olympia green ink and embossed using clear embossing powder. I then coloured the image with Souffle pens; they gave me the exact look I was going for. I tried Tombow markers first with the image stamped on white paper and the whole card was just wrong. The moment the image was stamped on the orange paper and the Souffles were used, it just all came together.

I used the Cricut to cut the "1st" out. Looking at the invite I love how I stuck with a "circle" theme throughout the invitation. The circles around the invite were an after thought...they were my favourite addition to the invite.

Here is a little look at her second birthday invitation. I used Scribble Scrabbles circus baby paper and what do you know, I once again choose a "circle" theme for the invite. I used the cuttlebug and nestabilities to cut out the various sizes of circles. The cricut was used again to cut out the "2". Glitter was used on the entire invite just to make it a little more girly!

So now you know why I am stressing! Oh...the pressure we put on ourselves! I will post the final invite once complete and you guys can tell me how I did!

Enough about me....here are the cards for the next round of classes. Please call (519.351.5220) or stop in the store to reserve your spot. Please DO NOT email. As always, payment within 48 hours is required to hold your seat.

His and Her Birthday Cards by Debbie
